Butter's takes a nap!
I couldn't resist putting this up! This is a picture of Butters taking a nap with her face in Jimmy's shoe! I am not sure if she fell asleep mid play with the shoe or if she just likes the smell of Jimmy's feet!
Fun Sunday in Tracy!
We went to Cory and Kristal's Sunday afternoon to celebrate Cory's birthday. His real birthday is this Thursday but we did have ice-cream and cake and Cory got to unwrap some of his presents. We also played a game where we had to guess things about Cory to see how well we knew him...One thing I learned about Cory is that he has twice the amount of comic books that I thought he had! I also learned that he has named his phone Woot! Jimmy and dad have named their phones too. Who knew! I guess I will have to name my phone too! It was hard enough to name 5 kids!
We went on a little walk to try and walk off a little of what we had for dinner. Here is a picture of Adam and Ethan...and Butters hitching a ride!
Out on our walk! The kids giving Cory some birthday gifts! The kids had fun licking the candles taken off the cake.

Stacy was asking about seeing some of my baby pictures so here are a few. Yes...they did have cameras in those days! But they didn't use them very often. There are very few pictures of me and my siblings!
I call this my Tweetie pie picture!
Me and my Teddy...not in my Teddy! Sure wish I still had that Teddy!
Taking a bath...I like my jetted tub better than sinks for baths now!
My sister Kathy and me. This was in Richland Washington where I was born. My dad was stationed at Camp Hanford there. This really looks like my Tweety picture! My sister Kathy taking me for a walk...she was probably taking me out to leave me some place where I couldn't find my way back home! Strollers sure have become a lot more plush now than they were then!
My sister Kathy and me on Christmas. We were living in Japan...as you probably guessed by our clothing!

This is me when we were in Japan too.

So in response to Stacy's blog...what were you doing 5-10-15-20 years ago this is what we were doing...
5 years... ago August 2003
Shawn and Christy were home from school so we decided to take the kids on a rafting trip down the Russian River. It was a lazy river...lots of rowing involved. Christy, Shawn and Jimmy got in one canoe and Mike and I got in another. As we started off there was a little island in the river. Mike and I chose to go to the right...the kids chose to go on the left. Big mistake!! As Mike and I were rowing along we could hear the kids laughing, their canoe dragging on the ground, and each of them yelling directions to each other...after quite a while they appeared having had to get out of their boat and push it along a very shallow area. As we paddled down the river...which isn't as easy as it looks...the kids were having their troubles going from one side of the river to the other trying to straighten their path. Mike and I were in the lead when we heard screaming...we turned around just in time to see the kids rowing right for some large low hanging trees. Jimmy ducked, Shawn managed to get down but poor hapless Christy was brushed right off her seat by the tree limbs. It was a fun trip...just don't ask the kids though who have another opinion of the trip down the river!
Stopping to take a swim.
10 years ago...August 1998
Shawn had just graduated from High School and Christy had graduated from 8the. grade.
We took Cory and dropped him off at Ricks College for his 2nd. year and Stacy off at BYU for her 1st year.

We got to meet Cory's new girlfriend Kristal!

Jimmy spent a lot of time in the pool

After we left Cory we got a call from him. He told us that he had left one of his suitcases in our car top carrier we were already about half way to Salt Lake. It had his Sunday clothes and shoes that he would need the next day plus a lot of his other clothes. We found out what time the bus to Rexburg leaves the Salt Lake airport and hurried to the airport. Mike circled the airport while Stacy and I jumped out. We found where the bus stopped. There were what looked like some students waiting so we went up to one girl and asked her if she was going to Rexburg. She was so we explained to her what happened to Cory's suitcase and asked her if she would take the suitcase with her to Rexburg and that Cory would get it when she got off the bus in Rexburg. She was really nice and said she would...so we gave her $20. for her trouble and Cory's suitcase. Just as we finished handing over Cory's suitcase the bus came! We had made it to the airport just in the nick of time! Cory was able to meet the bus there in Rexburg and retrieve his suitcase...problem solved! Then we went on to Provo to get Stacy all set up in her new apartment at the "Y".

We didn't meet Stacy's new boyfriend til the next summer when we went to bring her back home for the summer but you will recognize him!

15 years ago...August 1993 We went to Flaming George to go camping and boating. My grandparents, mother and Brother and his family also went. We started off by going to St. George for a week then driving to Orem for a visit with the Patten relations then on to Flaming George.

20 years ago...August 1988

A trip to Disneyland! We also started the foundation to our new addition!

And it all seemed like only yesterday!

I have been busy scanning Grandma Angus's photo's today. I need to get it all done by Nov. I am almost there! I came across a few pictures that I don't ever remember seeing. I thought you would enjoy seeing them!
This is Stacy on her 1st. birthday.
This was taken at Grandma and Grandpa Angus's home in 1984. This one was taken at Grandma and Grandpa Angus's Christmas of 1979. This was taken in approximately 1982 .
I had to put this one of Christy in because it looks so much like Stacy's Cailin and Sam. O.K. I put this one in only because...look how thin I was!!!!
We were at the airport in this picture greeting uncle Kevin when he came home from his mission to Montana.

Christy in Georgia...
Here are some pictures that Christy sent this week. They had several baptisms. They had transfers this week. Christy stayed but her companion was transferred. I guess she is the Senior now. Sounds like she is having a great experience in GA. She is having some stomach trouble with pain in her stomach and acid reflex ( I think that is how it is spelled). Anyway if anyone has any advice to help her with her stomach problems pass them on. She has been having troubles off and on but I guess it has been really bothering her lately. This is the house she is living in with a member family. It was a really foggy day. She said they had a storm last week that took down a lot of trees...sounds like some strange summer weather!

Happy Birthday Michael...Dad....Grandpa!!! We Love You!

Monday, August 11, 2008

August 9-10 We had a fun week-end which I will share with you! Cory and Kristal and the kids came down from Tracy for the week-end. They got here on Saturday morning and we all headed for the beach. I was afraid it would be cold at the coast because it was kinda cold here on Friday. As it turned out it was a beautiful day at the beach. Not too hot and not cold. Mike went boogie boarding, and Cory went surfing. Everyone played in the sand, had lunch and just enjoyed sitting and watching the waves. Sunday we celebrated dad's birthday...the real one is this Tues. August 12. He will be 58 years young! That is what you say...years young...when you get old! Anyway we had a nice Sunday. It was fun having Megan and Jonny in Primary...where I now serve. We had the missionaries for dinner and after they left the real wild party began! We had cake and ice-cream, dad unwrapped his presents and then we topped off the evening by playing a version of pictionary...win, draw or lose...or is it draw, win or lose or lose draw and win....I never remember the name correctly...the kids will tell you that! Cory and Kristal and the kids left this morning and now we are all back to the daily drudge!
At The Beach
Megan
Everyone was digging a pit...Ethan got into the pit...grandpa , Jimmy and Cory made a canal...from the water to the pit...then a wave came up and Ethan came out of the pit!! Then the kids made the best of the pit!I was actually informed (by Jimmy) that Dad worked on the "funnel", Jimmy worked on the "the stretch", and Cory worked on the "tunnel"... a three man job for what I thought was a canal like thingy!

Mike catching a wave! Cory catching a wave...the waves weren't big enough to surf. Adam was so cute. He is scared of the beach and clings onto everyone like a little monkey. It was so funny, he wouldn't even put his feet on the sand. Adam looking pretty cool!

Last night we were looking the pictures and we were laughing at this one! Jimmy is missing a leg...then we noticed Cory's pose...

The Birthday Party!

Megan's picture to Grandpa of our whole family!

Jonny eyeing the candy on the card he made for Grandpa!

This is what you get when you take a picture of the whole gang! Grandpa that white thingy is not a visor it goes in the toe of your new slippers!

All in all Grandpa seemed excited about his birthday party! And then we played the game!

Whats with that...every time we play a game Kristal is able to somehow bring pictures of naked people into it!

Kristal was drawing a saying...."bummed Out"

Can you guess Jimmy's?

Jimmy's was "hay wired"

How about guessing Megan's!!

If you guessed "Tooting your horn" you guessed right!

As you can see we had a fun time this week-end!
