The First!!
The first son, Cory...baptises his first child, Megan, the first Grandchild and first Granddaughter !!
We were blessed to experience a day of firsts on April 11th. ! Our sweet Megan was baptised! she has looked forward to this for a long time. When Christy left on her mission over 18 months ago she drew a picture for Christy that said...see you when I'm eight! She said she would get baptised when Christy got back from her mission. And she did!!
When Megan was around 4 years old or so we were talking to her about getting baptised. We asked her what happens after you get baptised...what do you get...we were trying to get her to say "the gift of the Holy Ghost". What her response was has made of laugh for years now....
"Megan...what do you get after you get baptised?" Megan's response..."Respect!" So now Megan has RESPECT! Way to go Megan!

Cory and Christy before the baptism! Christy got to give the talk on Baptism at Megan's Baptism.

Family Game Night

So when we all get together we love to play games....It all starts by someone saying "lets play a game". Others will chime in "yea...lets play a game!" Then comes "what game should we play?" The response will likely be something like this "someone just pick one and we will play it." (we have dozens and dozens of games...) "How about balderdash?"...."no not that one." "How about scattergories?" "No, I don't feel like thinking so much?".... "How about Moods?"..."No that one is stupid." "Why don't you pick one then." "It doesn't matter just pick one and we will play it." "But I just named a bunch and you don't want to play any of them." " Oh it doesn't matter...whatever." By this time the person who was trying to pick the game gets frustrated so someone else steps in..."What about loaded questions...lets just play that." So then the game is placed on the kitchen table and then begins the job of gathering everyone together. We have to track down everyone who got tired of trying to decide what game to play and have left for their separate caves. Some one has to go and get dad out of his office, Jimmy out of his room and everyone else up to the table. After what has usually been about 1 hour....no kidding...we have everyone at the table ready to play...then comes "so how do we play this?" Even though we have played the game a dozen times before.... Someone will usually remember and remind the rest of us...if not we revert to reading the directions. By the time that is done we have lost one or more players to the kitchen... where they are opening the fridge, popping popcorn, and scavenging for snack food. This causes a chain reaction and everyone is in the kitchen on the hunt for food within a few minutes...even though we are still full from a big dinner...or at least we should be. After we all have found something to snack on, changed a poopy diaper or two, put a movie on for the kids, we once more reassemble to play the game. We don't get to far into the game before Christy has to use the bathroom....could be because of that bottle of water she keeps next to her at all times. Now the procedure is that while she is in the bathroom, Cory will hide and when she comes out he will jump out and scare her....this works every time!! We all get a laugh out of it and move on with the game....this might happen a couple of times during the game. There will be a lot of laughing going on, teasing, and some arguing over the rules but we will play until dad decides it is way past his bed time!

Even though it takes us a while to get a game going we all really enjoy the time we spend together laughing and having fun...memories are made that will last us a life time!

Here are some random game night pictures from our last game night!

Christy with her snack This is what happens when you microwave popcorn on a Styrofoam plate...way to go Cory! Ethan joining the game as a spectator! Jonny....being Jonny!
