A Trip to New Jersey to visit Stacy and the kids!
Stacy and Jason excepted a job transfer with General Mills to Minnesoda, Jason had to start work a couple of weeks before their move so Mike and I flew out to be with Stacy and the kids. We had a great time! The night before we left Mike had to stay at work and finish some things. He ended up staying all night and getting home in the morning long enough to take a 1 hour nap. Just as he was getting packed after his nap we got a call from the airlines telling us that our flight was going to be very late and we would not be able to get our connecting flight to Philadelphia. They told us if we could get to the airport in an hour we could make the earlier flight and then get our connection. So we hurried like mad. Luckily I was already packed and had got up early so I was on track...poor Mike was tired and still not packed. He threw things into his suit case and off we went to the airport. We got the earlier flight and got into Las Vegas early for our connecting flight. As it turned out our connecting flight was way late. We ended up sitting at the Las Vegas airport for 3 1/2 hours! The worse part was that our flight was late because it was waiting for a flight from San Francisco that was delayed. We waited for them to get to Las Vegas to get on the flight we were getting on. We could have just gone to San Francisco several hours later and got on that flight instead of hurrying so fast and then waiting for 3 1/2 hours!! Mike would have had more time to pack and get ready...as it turned out when we got to New Jersey we found that Mike didn't pack any undies, or his church clothes. He didn't realize he left his church pants and tie home until Sunday morning. Stacy had to drive him to Walmart early before church to pick out a pair of pants. Luckily Walmart is open 24 hours! As far as the undies went we were able to stop at the Washington D.C. Temple where they have a distribution center to purchase some on our way to the Air and Space Museum!
All the slot machines at the Las Vegas airport
The Pyramid and casinos out the window of the airport By the time our flight got to Philadelphia it was pretty late. Stacy had to take the kids out of bed to come to the airport to get us.
The First Day
The next day we decided to go and visit Batsto Village. It was a very interesting little village...it was a hot day though so we were pretty slow walking around!
